Get ready for an exciting journey as we dive into the thrilling world of NASCAR and the story of Timothy "Mini" Tyrrell, a rising star in the racing scene!
The Ultimate Racing Reality Show
In a groundbreaking move, Ram and Kaulig Racing teamed up to create the "Race for the Seat" reality TV show, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for aspiring drivers. And guess what? Our young gun, Mini Tyrrell, emerged as the champion, securing a full-time ride for the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series!
A Million-to-One Shot
At just 21 years old, Tyrrell beat 14 other talented drivers to earn a spot on Kaulig's elite team. He'll be joining forces with Daniel Dye, Brenden Queen, and Justin Haley, forming a formidable quartet. But here's where it gets controversial... Kaulig's fifth truck will feature a rotating lineup of drivers, including some big names, as part of their Free Agent Driver Program.
"I'm still in shock! Winning 'Race for the Seat' was beyond my wildest dreams," Tyrrell shared. "I went into this hoping to learn and grow, and now I'm part of a professional racing team. I'm grateful to my family, my supporters, and Ram and Kaulig for believing in me. I'll give it my all to make them proud."
A Late Model Ace's Rise
Tyrrell's journey began in Manassas, Virginia, where he's been a full-time competitor in the CARS Tour since 2019, racking up an impressive 88 starts. In 2025, he claimed three victories, including a $50,000 win at the Throwback Classic in Hickory. But to earn his Kaulig seat, Tyrrell had to navigate a series of intense challenges, both on the track and off, across eight gripping episodes. He emerged victorious over dirt modified driver Carson Ferguson in the season finale, securing his spot for all 25 races in the highly anticipated Truck Series season. As a silver lining, Ferguson will get his chance to shine, driving the Free Agent truck at Martinsville Speedway in October.
A Veteran Crew Chief by His Side
Veteran crew chief Bruce Cook will be Tyrrell's trusted partner for his rookie NASCAR campaign. Cook, with a wealth of experience since 2008, has called the shots for Halmar Friesen Racing's No. 62 Toyota Tundra.
